The Andersen Bryllup

Over the weekend we celebrated the Bryllup of our friends Gus and Lauren. For those of you who don't speak Danish, that means WEDDING and for those of you who do; I'm sorry (I only used Google translate). No matter how big or how small the event, watching close friends walk the aisle, exchange vows and use the champagne flutes that you picked out for them just warms your heart. Here are just a few photos from the nuptials.

Nyd al den kærlighed (enjoy all the love)

The Nutmeg State

Bonjour and welcome!

I started this blog to chronicle our adventures moving from the bright lights of New York City to the cozy beaches of the Connecticut shoreline, and to share some local sites, sounds and tastes from my new-found suburbia. Last week, Steven and I packed up our very best outfits and drove a short hour and twenty minutes to our home-away-from-home, the Milford Marriott Extended Stay Hotel. Though the extended-stay kitchen does raise some culinary challenges,
there are also some serious perks, like housekeeping, complimentary breakfast, and of course, the pool (if it ever stops raining in Connecticut!).
After too many calls, emails and the occasional texts from brokers, we have finally found a real place to call home, and though it doesn't come with room service, there's a massive front porch and a walk in pantry. We'll be moving in a few days into (half of) this gorgeous yellow house, and with only a week in, it looks like we might like it here.
